Congratulations Leonora Anzaldua Burke

Our second Sun Cinematography award winner has been chosen: Leonora Anzaldua Burke.
Leonora's reel stunned the Sun Cinematography award team. She has a remarkable eye for light, color and composition, and we look forward to seeing how she makes use of the award to capture more of her visual art.
A Little About Leonora:
Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Leonora Anzaldua Burke spent her childhood and teenage years in competitive gymnastics and exploring 35mm photography. In 2004, Leonora earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Yale University, where she focused in visual theory, media studies, and discovered art as a platform for personal and political expression.
Leonora currently attends USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where she will receive an MFA in Film and Television Production in 2012. Her studies focus on directing and cinematography, though she also enjoys acting and editing. Leonora aspires to work as a cinematographer and director overseas, to tell stories that inspire, educate, and challenge audiences.
Leonora is a graduate and undergraduate teaching assistant in the editing track and an instructor of cinematography at USC. Leonora has been recognized by the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts (2010, 2011), the Rodolpho Montes Scholarship (2011), and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (2011).
Leonora’s cinematography credits include: “Love 2 Want to Love” (narrative short, post-production, USC graduate thesis); “The Road Less Travelled By” (documentary short, post-production, USC graduate thesis); “Blackbird” (12min, 2010, USC advanced production), 2011 Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood Award of Merit.
