Your Reel

Creating a reel is a difficult endeavor. The most difficult part is figuring out what to put on the reel!

We have specific requests for what we would like to see in your reel.  We also have specific requests for how your reel should be presented to us. Please follow both carefully.

What should be on it?

This reel should be a cinematography reel of footage shot as a cinematographer while at USC.

All footage for this reel must have been shot for official USC projects (including Coca Cola, Sloan, and other class projects, ie. CTPR 532).

Footage shot for non-USC projects will not be considered.

How should it be presented?

Your DVD must be postmarked no later than the application deadline. If the postmark on the envelop is after this date, your sumbission will become ineligible.

Technical specifics:

• NTSC formatted
• no sticker label - no exceptions
• mail in well protected casing (Aramay is pretty sturdy)
• name, email and phone number written on the DVD

Would you prefer to submit a Digital File?

We will accept digital files of your Reel under the following conditions:  

• Format the file as a Quicktime Movie file (.mov)  
• Upload the file into a Dropbox Folder  
• Share the Dropbox Folder with rainbreaw [at] mac [dot] com  
• Understand that Rain will remove the file from Dropbox at her convienence 
• Files must be uploaded and shared no later than the application deadline for review by the committee
